Galaxy Holding Group Guangzhou Open
The event was founded in 2004, 20 years ago, and was the second WTA tournament in China. Li NA became the first Chinese woman to win a WTA title in the inaugural tournament. In 2020-2021, the tournament was canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic. In 2022, the event was not held after all WTA tournaments in China were suspended over concerns about Shuai PENG and COVID-19 restrictions.
